I’ve been working as a full-time online running coach for a number of years now. Before being laid off from my previous job, I had done it as a side hustle.
The greatest mistake that I made early on and that I feel many make when attempting to take their passion for fitness and health to the next level as a teacher, is to think that since they have the knowledge, they’ll be successful.
Unfortunately, having the knowledge of what you want to coach and train is not going to get you clients! If you want to be a yoga instructor, nutritionist, running coach, martial arts instructor, or personal trainer, you need to need to be able to get clients to help them improve their lives and so you can make a living doing what you love.
Below are a number of resources I suggest you invest in. The above video about the Online Trainer Academy is a review of the program. I was in the first enrollment back in 2017 and they’ve continued to update it with helpful content. If you sign up through that hyperlink, I get a small percentage of this (and all below) sales and it is much appreciated! Other suggestions below include books, resources, insurance, etc.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or drop some comments below as well!
Insurance – One of the most common questions I see online trainers ask is where to get insurance from.
Taxes – Quickbooks links to Paypal (how I get paid) and to all bank accounts. My wife and I use it for personal and business. Click this referral link to save 50%.
Books – The below books will save you time and money with the knowledge, motivation, and practices.
Badass Your Brand, E-Myth Mastery, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The War of Art, Pitch Anything, Crushing It.
