I’ve helped runners all around the world create runnings plans that work towards their specific goals. That’s right. No pre-curated plans.

I work with you to establish a running plan that works with your schedule. And when the going gets tough (because we all have those days we just want to sleep in!), there is zero judgment. Life happens, and that’s why your plan should work around your busy seasons, travel, and kids scheduled.

Let's talk about the real reason you're here though.

⏰  You’ve been planning for a morning run but kept snoozing the alarm…

😬  You’ve felt frustrated because you kept getting the same old injuries…

🤷‍♂️  You’re just not sure what to do with your run training anymore…

But despite the struggles, you still want to lace up your shoes and hit the pavement.

And you know you need support.

Every day I talk to runners who at some point have been struggling. You and they know how not being in a good state of run training influences everything from sleep to mood to being able to keep up with your kid’s soccer practice.

I mean…

It’s normal to feel like there’s too much running information out there, so you keep putting off changing your strategy… right?

It’s normal to feel down on yourself for getting hurt or skipping too many runs… right?

It’s normal to feel like no matter what you do, you’re still worried about hitting the wall during your marathon… right?

Sure. But just because it's normal doesn't mean it's okay.

So whether:

➜ Something is off in your run training, and you don’t feel quite right.

➜ You’re frustrated with a lack of new personal records.

➜ You feel like you’re letting your family down because of the sacrifices they made so you could dedicate time to training for a race… and then you got injured before the event.

➜ You’ve gotten out of the habit of running and you just don’t feel like yourself.

➜ For whatever reason, you’re letting yourself down.

You need to know that running well, no matter what your goals are, makes you feel good! And that makes your work better, your family life better, and YOU better.

Hey, I’m Coach Kyle.

At my heaviest, I weighed 230 pounds. I decided that I needed to change something.

So I lost that weight, earned a degree in nutrition, and started completing ultra- and a couple of sub-3 hour marathons.

And now I take all that experience to help clients and runners just like you get on a plan that follows them, not the other way around!

So what do you get with me as your running coach?

  1. A running campaign that is designed based on your abilities, goals, and schedule so that there is no guessing on the training you should do each week.
  2. A strength and mobility plan that fits into the equipment and time that you have, so you become a stronger runner.
  3. Accountability and motivation from me, helping you stay on track and train consistently towards improvement.
  4. Kinship with someone who has eaten a vegetarian diet since 2006, so I can connect with you in other ways than just enjoying running.
  5. The expertise of working with a coach who has earned a degree in nutrition as well as taken exercise physiology courses, allowing me to not just up your fitness game, but also helps you through the mindset challenges that come with working on your wellness.

Just imagine if you could have...

A TUTOR IN YOUR POCKET | Whether you use the app and/or website, you have access to me any time you wish to help design your program, check in, ask questions, and make sure you get the most from your coaching investment.

NO NEED TO CROSS YOUR FINGERS | When we start working together, we’ll dig into your needs, schedule, what you’re doing well, and what isn’t working with what you’re currently doing. No more Runner’s World Syndrome, changing plans every month because there’s another shiny object. Your email and Final Surge app give you exactly what you need to get results.

A PLAN FOR WHEN LIFE HAPPENS | You’ll have a monthly check-in with me, where we’ll lay out anything in the next 1 to 3 months that will require reduced training load (think taxes, finals week for teachers, summer vacations). No more guessing what to do while traveling or during a busy season – let me modulate the training load to an appropriate level so you can still see results when life happens.

BOSS ASS ACCOUNTABILITY | People tell me all the time they just feel better when they’re running and feel off when they’re not. But just because it makes you feel good, doesn’t mean it’s always easy to do! What is easy? Snoozing the alarm. But you didn’t invest in a coach to continue snoozing your alarm. You invested in my promise to get you back into the habit of training if you’re not currently in it. No more missing a workout thinking I won’t notice… I put time and energy into prescribing workouts, respecting you to do them, and promise to check on you if you don’t log something.

REAL FEEDBACK | Instead of doing some cookie-cutter plan written on a piece of paper that doesn’t give you anything in return, I’m watching your training as you log it! I’ll let you know if your pacing was off a bit, or if your perceived exertion was too high, or if your HR was super low and you maybe could have pushed it harder.

A JUDGMENT FREE ZONE | No, this isn’t Planet Fitness, but I get that shit happens. Sometimes your kid was up all night throwing up or there was a thunderstorm after work and you (wisely) didn’t run in the lightning. Instead of shudda wudda cudda, I understand, and when appropriate I give you the oK that it was fine to miss a few miles.

And even though it's virtual coaching, I'm always with you.

Investment

First off, I hate hate hate when I go to look at something and there’s no price listed, that’s almost an instant turn off. When we were searching for our last car and I’d see a nice looking vehicle with a FOR SALE sign in the window but no price, guess how many of those phone numbers I called?

Zero.

So here with my coaching, the price ranges from $150-$300 every 4-weeks and during our initial chat we can discuss which of the two tiers will work best for you.

I often look at coaching as an investment and a form of insurance.

Let me explain.

Run coaching is an investment.

Often runners who are out of the habit of running come to me and say they just don’t feel right when they’re not lacing up and hitting the trails 3-4 times weekly. They don’t perform as well at work, they may not sleep as well, they may have gained some weight.

For cases like this you can look at coaching as an investment into yourself – it simply makes everything better.

Sometimes all these people need to get back into it is the investment into their fitness and it pays itself back in how well you feel, how good you look, and how great you act.

When you pay for a coach, you are putting money into something and I promise that’s going to increase the chances of you doing what you’re intending on doing.

Stop wishing you would and stop feeling bad when you don’t!

Run coaching is insurance.

Another way to look at coaching is insurance again injury, hitting the wall, or losing the habit.

Of course nothing is certain, but I’m obviously a big believer that having a tutor will increase your chances of success when it comes to your training.

The most common thing an injured runners says to me (I talk to many on social media) is that they should have rested or shouldn’t have overdone it.

I’ve no problem telling someone to rest for a couple days if their knee felt a bit off. The ego may want you to keep training and hope it doesn’t turn into an injury, but I’m always wanting to be safe and have no problem telling you to do some elliptical time!

Think of how much goes into a training for an important event.

The energy and time you put into waking up early for weekday runs, the cost you’ve paid for the gear and special nutrition, the thigh chafing.

Consider all of the sacrifices people around you have made. Maybe you’ve had to skip out on some late night friend hangouts, maybe your spouse watches the kids while you go out on that weekend long run.

How horrible would it be if you did all that and ended up getting hurt and skipping the event or performing poorly during it? Like I said above, nothing is certain but I’m confident a coach increases your chances of success!

But! Before you contact me… make sure you know:

  • Real improvements take time, so even though you can cancel whenever you like, you are willing to commit to at least 3-months of coaching.
  • Your time is valuable, and investing in a coach to help guide your training will help you save time, energy, and money.
  • Your questions are important, and know that you can contact me at any time for thoughts or comments about your training.
  • To do you what you’ve never done, you have to do what you’ve never done, and that means that the training will not always be easy but in the long run it will be worth it.
  • Your money is valuable, but look at coaching as an investment to lower your risk of hitting the wall, getting injured, or having to skip events.
  • The more time to prepare, the more likely you are to have a successful event.
  • It takes some effort from you as well, the more time you log your training and the more you include, the more information I have to design your training campaign.

Comments & Concerns

I’ve worked with and talked to so many runners over the years and I’ve heard it all, that also means I’ve tackled it all.

Sometimes I’ll even send out an email to or tweet to my followers and simply ask “hey, what are you struggling with?” and I always ask my new coaching clients what their main objections or hesitations are/where.

So below are some of the most common ones, and if I left out YOUR concern, contact me & let me know what it is and I’ll do my best to make you feel more comfortable with moving forward towards coaching.

I have pricing options ranging from single payments of $150 to $300 every 4-weeks, with a bit in between as well.

For $150 every 4-weeks you get an initial 4-week period of normal coaching. After that each 4-week period includes a video call to talk about the previous month and the upcoming with, we talk about what worked and what didn’t and I write you out a plan. The main difference between this and the full coaching service is after the initial 4-weeks I’m not checking on you multiple times weekly, doing regular text or video updates with your, or seeing your training daily. It’s more hands-off, which works for some runners and not others.

If you want to modify how payments are made from spreading them out weekly to paying all at once for a discount, I’m willing to work with you to work with you!

Look at the investment in a running coach as insurance. Brad says, “I wish I had met you before I met my physical therapist, I could have saved a lot of money!

How much are you willing to spend to increase your chances of having a successful goal race?

“The RUNDOWN has been amazing so far! Even though i have almost a two and a half year run streak, this RUNDOWN has really gotten me excited about running again! The workouts are great, and Coach Kyle knows what he is talking about!”

-Kyle P, High School Athletic Trainer

Also, we can work with this!

Recently I began working with a runner in Florida who said “Every morning the alarm goes off and for whatever reason the feet don’t hit the floor and then the running doesn’t happen in spite of the desire to get back out there again.

We chatted and I suggested that having the investment in a coach, having me put time into prescribing is runs, me expecting him to do, and me checking in on him would help get him running.

And you know, it worked!

To be honest, I don’t work with people who are currently unable to run due to injury – in such cases as this you are likely better off working with some sort of physical therapist or athletic training towards recovery.

But when it comes to returning to running, I very much enjoy helping safely guide people back into good training habits. During this time when running volume is low can be a great opportunity to relearn or start excellent training habits.

I currently work with two runners who have no goal race on the horizon.

The runner in Wyoming says, “I was also thinking that I’d like to stay at 10K race ready, just for being at a certain level to maintain until I get back to racing?” and that’s how I’m working with her right now.

On the flip side, the runner in London would like to potentially do a marathon if we can get him into sub3 hour shape, but in the mean time he just enjoys training really well.

No worries!

I specialize in working with busy adults who are business owners, teachers, stay at home parents who need to train around their children’s schedules, etc. During the initial coaching consultation with a runner I’m working with as I write this, he literally said he wants his training to interfere as little as possible with his family time.

Another runner who is an entrepreneur said that he looks at having a running coach as investing in his time. Having a coach do the research behind nutrition, training, gear, etc saves him time and is motivation to help him get out there when he needs to. I stress to those busy runners that even 2-4 mile short jogs are impactful when done consistently and frequently over time.

Even me, as a running coach, has hired coached before in the past. I’ve also coached other coaches.

Runners who are very knowledgable about the sport still may require extra accountability, motivation, being told when to rest, being checked on for strength work, etc.

For me and the most recent coach I hired, I really just wanted to be told what to do. I have found that having more knowhow in the sport can often lead to a bit of analysis paralysis when it comes to training. I want to try / do more than I can so it’s nice to again, just be told what to do 🙂

Even for people who are currently running and training well on their own, working with a coach can be a breathe of fresh air. Sometimes simply changinyour training can be enough to stimulate some fitness gains.

An athletic trainer who I designed training for said, “Even though I have almost a two and a half year run streak, this training has really gotten me excited about running again! The workouts are great, and Coach Kyle knows what he is talking about!

I work with people who run 20-30 miles per week and with people running twice that.

You can only train as much as your body and schedule allow, and the benefit of a coach is being able to work with what you got.

The training follows YOU and YOUR unique situation.

Sometimes people tell me that they’re slow and don’t think they deserve or should have a coach.

Or for whatever reason they’re a new runner and feel a coach is only for really great runners.

But consider that if you want to learn to swim or play an instrument, would you wait until you’re great at it? I think anyone looking to improve at anything can benefit from a tutor or coach!

Satisfaction is guaranteed. Not only YOUR satisfaction, but also mine. I’ll work with you to make sure you’re happy with the end product, and I won’t be satisfied until you are.

Seriously, if you truly think I did a horrible job and are not happy with our 1st 30-days together & do not wish to continue, I’ll refund you x2.
