Thanks to my friend, Beth Wilson Hollick, for sharing this recipe with me! It’s one I continually come back to:

Note: You’ll probably want to halve the recipe below.

Here is my homemade granola recipe. This makes a big batch so you can cut it in half. Keeps well in an airtight container. You can use whatever nuts and dried fruit you like.

Sauce: 1 c veg oil1 c maple syrup / agave combo 1 tbsp cinnamon & vanilla1/2 c brn sugar1 1/2 tsp salt

Dry ingredients:

  • 8 c rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 c wheat germ ( optional)
  • 1 1/2 c oat bran (optional)
  • 1 c sunflower seeds
  • 1 c almond slivers
  • 1 c pecans (chopped)
  • 1 c walnuts (chopped)
  • 2 c raisins or dried cranberries (added after baked and cooled)

Preheat oven to 325. Line two 15 x 10 baking sheets with foil and lightly spray with Pam. Combine your dry ingredients in a big bowl minus the dried fruit. In a pan combine all the ingredients for the sauce. Bring to boil over med heat. Pour into bowl of dry ingredients and stir to coat. Spread evenly into baking pans. Bake for 20 minutes or until toasted. Stir once half way through. Cool then crumble into a bowl and add the dried fruit.
