Training Week of Oct 19, 2015

This was my first week back into consistent training after my two week period of rest following the Crazy Horse 13.1

I can’t remember exactly what morning it was, but last weekend or on Monday I woke with an incredibly dry throat and lots of congestion. Most of the runs early in the week had me feeling quite drained, but otherwise fine.

This week I ran without a GPS as well, and I really want to keep this up. In the past I do this in phases, however consistently the runs are more enjoyable without having something constantly tracking my movements. It’s simply…refreshing to run without constant pace tracking.

For the past couple weeks, I’ve also been running with Desi. She’s been inspired since watching the runners at Crazy Horse to training for the 2016 edition of the event. We ran 3 miles on this Saturday and Sunday she felt no resulting soreness, which has not been the case from the previous 3 milers. So, it’s really great to see that progression! I know she also enjoys having this in common with me, the running.
