How to know when you’re not a “new” runner anymore.

Screen Shot 2015-03-09 at 8.10.11 AMThere comes a time in each serious runner’s life when just going out and running stops yielding the fitness gains we’ve had in the past.

Here’s what to do when you need to go from “just running” to serious training.

I did this in 2012 after having “just been running” for five years. I thought I was training, but looking back that is incorrect. I had loose ideas, but that was not real training.

Those five years were necessary for me to get a solid base of running, and now I’m building quality training on top of that foundation.
